Ontario's History and Historic Contexts

Ontario has a very diverse history that is rooted in agriculture. That history includes three major contexts:

The Ontario Irrigation Colony, which includes the Chaffey Brothers, the Ontario Land and Improvement Company and the Citrus Industry.

The Wine Industry, which is predominately in the eastern part of Ontario and was dominated by Hofer Ranch and the Guasti Winery.

The Dairy Industry, which is located in the southern portion of Ontario, mostly in what is known as the New Model Colony.

Below is a list of histories and historic contexts that have been or are being created. The entire list of histories is included, but not all are available for viewing. As they are completed, the histories and contexts will be added.
