Current Term: December 2008 - December 2012
Debra has been a resident of Ontario for 25 years. She was elected to the Ontario City Council in 2008. She has been active in the community serving as a planning commissioner, Ontario-Montclair school board member, Kids Come First Clinic board member, Vietnam Memorial Wall Co-Chair, Ontario Heritage member and a member of the Ontario Kiwanis Club.
Debra is currently representing Ontario on the I-10 Corridor Beautification Committee and as Council Liaison to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Museum of History and Art and to Ontario’s School Districts.
Debra is committed during her term in office to increase public awareness of the need to be prepared for a disaster/earthquake. She would like all residents to have a seven day supply of food, water and their medications. She is also looking into reducing Ontario’s energy bills by retrofitting light standards to use energy efficient light bulbs and the possibility of solar panels on some of the city’s buildings.
Debra is the mom of a terrific son. She has worked as a registered nurse in various fields for over 27 years. She has a Bachelors degree in nursing and has almost completed her School Nurse Credential. Her hobbies are gardening and garage sales. |
