FISCAL IMPACT: The Fiscal Year 2008-09 Adopted Budget includes appropriations in the amount of $67,500 for the purchase and installation of specialized equipment for police vehicles. In April 2008, Woodcrest Vehicle Center was awarded an agreement in the amount of $78,232 for similar services during Fiscal Year 2007-08 based on their response to the City’s request for proposals (RFP). The RFP and agreement included the option for additional vehicle installations during Fiscal Year 2008-09; and City staff and Woodcrest have negotiated a new 7% reduction to the unit cost for these services. This amendment provides for materials and installation services to outfit 11 police vehicles at a not to exceed cost of $50,000 for a revised total agreement amount of $128,232.

Woodcrest is either the manufacturer or an authorized local sale and warranty repair dealer for the recommended vehicle equipment and is qualified to provide the specialized installation of this equipment.
