CHECK SMOKE DETECTORS. Change batteries where necessary.
 
BE CAUTIOUS with Christmas trees, lights, candles, ornaments and around fireplaces.
 
BUY FRESH TREES AND POSITION THEM away from heat sources and out of exit pathways.
 
CHECK LIGHTS before putting them on trees. Frayed or damaged light sets should be replaced.
 
PROPERLY DISPOSE of trees, decorations and wrapping paper.
 
Keep tight-fitting metal screens or glass doors IN FRONT OF FIREPLACES
 
Do not use fireplaces or portable heaters WHILE YOU ARE OUT, AWAY OR ASLEEP.
 
KNOW how to get out and stay out in case of a fire.
 
ENSURE portable heaters are in good working condition and equipped with automatic tip-over switches.
 
ALWAYS keep children and pets away from heaters.
 
KEEP heaters at least three (3) feet away from heaters.
