Holiday & Winter Safety Tips       •   CHECK SMOKE DETECTORS. Change batteries where necessary. •   BE CAUTIOUS with Christmas trees, lights, candles, ornaments and around fireplaces. •   BUY FRESH TREES AND POSITION THEM away from heat sources and out of exit pathways. •   CHECK LIGHTS before putting them on trees. Frayed or damaged light sets should be replaced.

•   PROPERLY DISPOSE of trees, decorations and wrapping paper. •   Keep tight-fitting metal screens or glass doors IN FRONT OF FIREPLACES •   Do not use fireplaces or portable heaters WHILE YOU ARE OUT, AWAY OR ASLEEP. •   KNOW how to get out and stay out in case of a fire. •   ENSURE portable heaters are in good working condition and equipped with automatic tip-over switches. •   ALWAYS keep children and pets away from heaters. •   KEEP heaters at least three (3) feet away from heaters.
