West Area Commander

 

 

The West Area Commander is: Lieutenant John Graff.


Born and raised in the City of Ontario, Lt.Graff grew up in the West Area of the city and is a product of the Ontario-Montclair School District and a graduate of Chaffey High School. He started his career with the Ontario Police Department in 1982 as a Police Cadet and in 1984 he completed the 75th graduating class of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Academy.

During his career Lt. Graff, has had many assignments including narcotics investigator, where he spent five years with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a task force officer targeting both domestic and international drug trafficking organizations. Lt. Graff has also been a field training officer and as a Detective his primary assignment was auto theft. Prior to promoting to Lieutenant, Lt. Graff supervised the Bike Unit and worked in patrol operations, Lt. Graff also worked in the Office of the Police Chief as an Internal Affairs investigator.

As a Lieutenant, he has managed in patrol operations and spent 3 years as the Narcotics Division Commander. Lt. Graff is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy in Quantico, Va.
