Deputy Chief Brad Kaylor is a graduate of Claremont High School and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne. In 1988, he attended the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department 93rd basic academy session and upon graduation became a police officer for the City of Claremont. In 1990, he started as a patrol officer with the Ontario Police Department.

Deputy Chief Kaylor has worked a variety of assignments, which include; Patrol, Gang Violence Suppression Unit, Field Training Program, Narcotics, SWAT, Investigations, Criminal Intelligence Unit, and Labor Relations Unit. He spent five years with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a task force officer targeting both domestic and international drug trafficking organizations. In 2006, he graduated from the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy in Quantico, Va.

Deputy Chief Kaylor has held supervisory and command positions in; Patrol Operations, South Area Command, SWAT/Crisis Negotiations, Traffic Division, COPS/MET Division, and DEA HIDTA Group 50.
